meeting theo
i went to AI Engineer World Fair, and while i was there, i met Theo, a youtuber some of you may know. I’ve been watching theo’s video for awhile now, shortly before his ai psychosis started.
some of my key takeaways of hearing him speak:
-
he gave pretty encouraging words for juniors just starting out, and i was actually pretty pleasantly surprised to hear from him, that my thought that i wrote in an (earlier post)[somthing.md], was supported by him, in that we (students) should be going through the hard work of learning and deliberately taking a diffcult path, to facilitate learning. push through it!
- i think this was extra striking to me due to how much his tweets have been sending a message of code no longer being needed to be read, and the contents of his closing keynote basically hinting at the fact that there is a need to embrace a shift in the new normal of how software is produced. we are in the transition period of how “producing software” looks like, and will look like. the comparison drawn was ios6->7 no longer neede skeumorphism to convince the user that the phone will be the new interface of doing things we are not traditionally used to looking like a “phone thing”
in this form, the wriitng is very raw, i will need to fix this up in the future, whne i can fully synethesize my thoughts and structure them well. anyway, i have a (twitter)[https://x.com/pingw_me] now!
